Hey, Champs!
It’s been a few weeks since we released Punch Club 2: Fast Forward on all platforms, and we’d like to take this moment to thank each and every one of you who have played the game so far and supported us! We’ve been constantly going through your valuable feedback, evaluating it, addressing minor (and tricky) issues and building the plans for future updates.
Today we're also releasing an update that is designed to balance out individual game mechanics, add a few quality-of-life improvements and fix a bunch of bugs. Let’s talk about it in detail!
Balance changes
Neurotraining cost
We've noticed that a fair number of players prefer traditional gym workouts to neurotraining (although in the long run or if you're a speedrunner - neurotraining is much more effective, just saying) or avoid neurotraing completely for a variety of reasons. In this update, neurotraining will become 25% cheaper (this special deal is valid when you purchase an annual gym membership… Just kidding!). We hope this change will bring back the popularity of this new kind of exercise in the gym of the future.
Progress Bar in Mick’s Old House and Police Station
If you look at most of the negative reviews (thank you so much for them! We read ABSOLUTELY ALL of them and have taken a lot of things into consideration), we can see that players encountered a slowdown in story progression and suffered from the monotonous repetition of the same actions (we were specifically asked to avoid the word GRIND in communication, but you get the idea).
And although we originally envisioned this approach somewhere around the middle of League 2, in this update, we decided to adjust the speed of progression through activities and the story slightly. So now the global progression speed in The Police and Mick’s Old House is faster by 25%. Here. Use your saved time wisely!
GPP
We've also adjusted the amount of GPP points you gain (and lose) per fight. Pro-League progression will now be faster, and you'll get more GPP points for winning. But you'll lose more GPP if you fail. Did we mention this update is about balancing things out?
We want to see how these changes will affect the game in the long term, and we are willing to adjust them in the future to achieve proper balance across all systems. Please share your feedback and let us know your thoughts on our official Discord server !
QoL Improvements
-Added Clippy softlock escape feature
-Additional softlock escape if the player empties both their food and money reserves. Clippy will now appear and save them.
-Added skip option for cinematics. Some people asked for this, so we added it.
Balance Improvements
-Neurotraining price is now 25% lower. So the “Police-Neurotraining Path” is more accessible.
-More GPP increase for wins, more GPP decrease for losses. Made the “steps” in Pro-league bigger. You get more GPP for winning and lose more GPP for losing.
-Mick’s Old House & Police Work global progression is now 25% faster. The global progression speed in Police and Mick’s Old House is faster. (This should feel much less grindy)
Bug Fixes and Graphical Additions
-Fixed unlocking achievements for demo saves. If you continue playing a Demo save you will get all the achievements that you achieved in the Demo.
-Fixed player sometimes getting stuck after training ends. Training in Mick’s Gym will no longer cause the game to get stuck.
-‘Pizza for Barry’ quest now removes pizza from inventory after giving it to Barry
-Fixed an issue that could cause a softlock after beating Aesop but still sitting in 2nd position in the league
-Fixed Apu & Adriana event start bugging in a few cases
-Fixed unlocking the Dream Lab if the police track is followed exclusively. If the player ignored Mick's quests, they wouldn’t unlock the Dream Lab scene.
-Fixed edge cases where locations for side quests would not unlock
-Fixed an issue that could make it impossible to join the pro league
-Added dialogue if the player beats Jai. If you manage to beat Jai, there is now dialogue to reflect that you won. (Initially, he was conceived to be invincible, but some of you have somehow managed to defeat him…….)
-Added sparring guys in Silver's Ring. Just a visual in Silver’s Ring scene.
-New animations on various characters. Minor thing, but the animations are cool :-)
Hotfix v1.003 -If you faced a black screen instead of a fight in Chapter 2 just know that it was because the gym's office manager forgot to pay the bills and the power went off. Everything is settled now, feel free to continue your adventure!
Time flies so fast and look, it's already mmmm... time for the second patch! Punch Club 2: Fast Forward v. 1.002 is waiting for you and here is a list of what's been updated ;) -During the pizza party in the sewers you can talk to Bill and the game won't break! Crazy, right :D Come check it out! -Remember when you skipped the fight with Ruth in Silver's League and stuck? Well, no more! You can finally move further to Pro League, champ! -We removed tooltips for characters who don't have descriptions so you can focus on only the funny content and be entertained. -Finally, you can finish the lost shell quest and no shells will be stuck in your... inventory. -Now you can enjoy the lost shell scene in its full glory. -Speaking about glory, Rusty Robot got some dope animations and you may want to lose this fight to enjoy them a little bit more (and now the animation is fixed). -No more calls during tutorials. Now I remember why we decided to mute calls IRL. -Fixed some Hanna-North Dakota (or how did this TV series call) dilemma. Now you can enroll in the Police and Mick's gym at the same time! The best of two worlds yeah! Until you'll have to choose only one. Wait, that is a kinda TV series dilemma... but it's a scripted one so we are good! -Now Lil Bobo won't disappear into nothingness when you talk to him. It was kinda rude from his side and we made a deal that he will behave as planned. -Nothing should stop you from becoming the best police officer in the whole City. We fixed some issues during duty, distracting calls during patrols, and the double start of some events with the yakuza. It should get better now. -Fixed some translation typos, thanks to all of you who pinpoint them and let us know :) -Achievements! Go grab your achievements if you used your demo save file. -Polished some visual software here and there. That's all for today, champs! See ya in Punch Club 2!
Fresh from the oven - first patch! Thank you all for all your feedback and bug reports - you are helping us make Punch Club 2: Fast Forward even better! So, you probably want to know what are the updates. Here you go, champ! -First, we fixed some crashes during the start. So now some of you may finally answer the call of Punch Club! -No more unexpected calls during the first training in your own fight school or during Police Duty. All of that requires some serious concentration and nobody should interrupt you. -We talked to Silver and he promised he will share his thoughts and feelings only one time after you win a fight against Boris. He clearly was a little bit overwhelmed when you took care of that customer complaint from Boris.
