Patch 1.4.1 is now live! This minor update serves to remedy various RTX-related issues. The technology is still brand-new and in constant development, so we’ve worked closely together with the engineers at NVIDIA to help iron out the RTX issues that we’ve seen and that you’ve reported on our boards. If you’ve experienced any crashes and black screens before this update, let us know if it’s better now!

In addition, the patch includes a number of small fixes:

Update 1.4.0 (19 December 2019)

WARNING: the GOG Galaxy overlay is not compatible with DX12 and has thus been disabled to prevent crashes. GOG is working on fixing the issue. In order to play Deliver Us The Moon with RTX, enable DX12!

Dear astronauts,

It’s here: Deliver Us The Moon now supports RTX and DLSS! We’ve opened up every level, every section of the game again to employ these exciting features to the fullest. Realistic reflections and shadows, combined with the latest innovation in deep learning super sampling elevate the game’s atmosphere to a new level of quality and realism that we’re happy to finally share with you!

If your graphics card supports RTX and DLSS, make sure that you’ve updated your drivers. Then, simply head into the game’s Settings menu to enable DLSS. To turn on Ray Tracing, first select DX12 from the settings and restart the game. Ray Tracing requires DX12, so the Ray Tracing option in the Settings menu will remain greyed out until DX12 is selected and the game is restarted.

It’s worth noting that RTX is a very novel technology that’s only supported by recent versions of Windows. If the Ray Tracing option remains unavailable to you after updating your drivers, selecting DX12 and restarting the game, check your version of Windows by pressing the Windows key + R and typing ‘winver’. RTX requires:

Windows 10 Redstone 5 or later;

Version: 1809, 1903, 1909 or later;

OS Builds 17763, 18362.535, 18363.535 or later.

If you’re uncertain how your version of Windows compares to the above, you can find a full version history of Windows 10 over at https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_version_history.

If you experience any difficulties while updating your system, try running the Windows Disk Cleanup tool to clear old update files. The Microsoft update assistant (available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10) can provide further assistance. Finally, this article can help you resolve any other issues you might run into while updating Windows: https://www.windowslatest.com/2018/06/23/fix-windows-update-issues-on-windows-10/.
