v1.2.3
User-level browser fixes & improvements
- Browser now shows stats for already completed user levels: Highest score, best time, highest difficulty, and completion (gems, score items, secrets). Note that score, time, and difficulty have already been tracked and will now appear for levels that were completed in earlier versions of the game, but completion stats require replaying a level in order to show up.
- Level lists use paging now, showing 20 entries at a time. You can use the Page Down/Page Up keys or the LB/RB buttons on a controller to navigate between pages.
- It's now possible to block level creators (which will hide all their levels) or hide individual levels. Press F1 or Select on a controller to show a list of hidden levels and blocked creators, which also allows unhiding and unblocking.
- Already loaded lists can now be interacted with while other lists are still loading in the background
- Selection is remembered separately for each individual list
- When trying to load a level that was created in a newer version of the game than the one currently running, the level browser now shows a more specific error message instead of just "Level not playable"
- Fixed a bug where a user level would not be listed as installed and playable after downloading under specific circumstances
- Fixed a bug were quitting the level browser immediately after opening it and then opening the level editor would cause the game to hang
Other changes
- Added a few new tiles for use in user levels
- Level editor: Fixed inconsistent naming of "vertical"/"horizontal" scroll blocker actor in actor chooser vs. map verification dialog\
- Level editor: Updated the example level with a few new mechanics (mainly dynamic tile adjusters)
- Fixed some modern graphics being used in the tutorial level even when enhanced graphics is disabled
- Fixed rounding error that could cause completion to show as 100% even if not everything had been collected in that category, under specific circumstances (only happened in some user levels)
- Fixed loading a save of E4L11 that was made in a version older than 1.2.0 causing graphical corruption in a certain secret room (affected save files will now load correctly again)
- When quick saving, then changing difficulty, and then loading the quick save again, certain levels would use the wrong difficulty-specific layout/tiles. This is now fixed.
v1.2.2
- Fixed red checkpoints not working correctly in limited lives mode (affects some episode 4 levels)
- Fixed game lockup/freeze caused by placing newly added decorative forcefield tiles (indices 3012 through 3014)
- Added a few new tiles
v1.2.1
This patch fixes a bug introduced into the level editor in v1.2.0. After placing a respawn beacon actor into a map, the editor would refuse to open said map and show an error message "Failed to load ". This is now fixed, and any affected maps can be opened again without any data loss.
We're really sorry about any inconvenience caused by this issue! Thanks to community member CyberOmen for bringing this to our attention.
v1.2.0
This update adds new gameplay modes for players looking for an additional challenge: Limited lives mode, and an option to disable ammo & grenades carrying over into the next level. Limited lives mode also comes with its own dedicated leaderboards, and mid-level saves are disabled in this mode. Ammo carryover can be used with either limited or unlimited lives, it doesn't have dedicated leaderboards but leaderboard entries using that option will be marked accordingly.
Full changelog

- Added an option to play without carrying ammo & grenades/mines into the next level, like in the original game (indicated in leaderboard, can be used together with either limited or unlimited lives)
- When playing without GOG Galaxy (or when not logged in), it's now possible to manually enter a name for the local high score list
- Updated NukedOPL3 to latest version for more accurate music playback (very subtle differences)

- Fixed a bug that would cause Snake to be stuck crouching or walking into one direction after releasing the corresponding input
⚠️ Note for level creators
We've added new tiles to the tileset, and some of the new tiles occupy "slots" that were previously empty. This could cause existing levels to visually change, if the level is using one of the affected tile indices as an "empty" tile instead of using tile index 0 for that purpose. We recommend checking your levels after the update to make sure no unintentional changes have happened.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this, and we're going to look into measures to prevent these types of unintentional changes in the future.
Here's a list of all modified tile indices which were previously empty:
