0.4.88 PROLOGUE (2025-03-17)
0.4.88 PROLOGUE Patch Notes
Added:
- |QOL| Added information "All the effects of the merged spell(Sacrifice) will remain intact." at the end of effect description when trying to do the nested spells merging (merging already merged spell into another).
- |QOL| After using the Spellweaver's Soul, the Inventory get's automatically closed.
- |QOL / Summons| Summons and charmed enemies are now way more easier to recognize from the normal enemy. They have their colors changed to be way more purple. They no longer have only the small icon above the head with just an outline.
- |QOL / Spells Merging| Number of slots left on a spell is now clearly visible when merging spells. No more confusion on why the chance suddenly dropped to 0!
- |Spells Merging| It's now possible to merge 2 identical spells together. It was confusing for the new players that only the number of charges was increasing before and it didn't had much sense with large mana costs as well (or even worse case - that you would accidentaly lose your merged spell by doing so!).
- |QOL / Tutorial| Next tutorial missions now start right after finishing previous one. There is no longer need to walk back to the NPC again after finishing each tutorial step.
- |QOL| It's now possible to use the jumping slime trampoline while stomping.
- |QOL| Your current debuffs are now displayed as icons near the health bar with the time left. It's also possible to hover over them to see their names.
- |Rooms / OOL| Added a lot of ladders and jumping slimes to make it easier to navigate through levels.
- |Steam Deck| Added more changes related to getting Steam Deck Verified badge (enlarging texts in UI elements when using a Steam Deck).
Changed:
- |Camera| Improved camera movement. It's now more smooth.
- |QOL| It's now possible to stomp by simply pressing the down arrow button without the need of pressing both "Jump" and "Down Arrow" buttons at the same time. It made stomping way easier to use.
- |QOL| Player's climbing speed has been increased by 40% to not break the flow of the fast-paced movement anymore.
- |QOL / Settings| Added option to switch Basic Spell into auto-fire mode in the settings (making it work as a toggle).
- |Spells| Spells drop rate has been greatly reduced for the first 5 runs of the game (increasing with each new run). It had to be done because new players were overwhelmed with too many spells thrown at them at once.
- |Magic Weapons| Magic Weapons drop rate has been reduced by about 65% - there was no reason to have so many identical weapons. It was also very confusing for the new players.
- |Player| Slightly increased Player's jump height.
- |Translations| Improved Traditional Chinese translation.
- |Challenges| Lucky Survivor's health required threshold increased from 35 to 60
- |Enemies| Enemies now are red for 0,13 => 0,25 seconds after getting hit.
- |World| Changed outline color of all destructive elements from blue to purple.
- |World| All usable objects(chests, levers, etc) besides portals now have a permanent blue outline.
- |Curses| Reduced amount of traps spawned by the Curse of Traps.
Fixed:
- |UI / Settings| Updated keybindings are now properly shown in spells and minimap UI after changing controls in the settings.
- |Ladders| Player should no longer get stuck on ladders when trying to jump while climbing. The bug was causing you to "jump on ladder with close to 0 force".
- |Audio| Fixed a bug where you could hear fire sounds while loading into the Astral World after unlocking Ivar, the Hunter.
- |Curses| Curse of Madness (making you unable to see HP, mana, keys or currencies) now loads correctly.
- |Level Generation| Fixed a bug where sometimes the levels were not loading (I hope it works).
- |Main Menu| Fixed displaying texts in other languages than english in the Exit Game screen.
- |Enemies| Background music is no longer constantly changing after killing Shopkeeper's clones while fighting him.
Removed:
- |QOL| Removed Change Spell Window. Spells will now automatically pickup to your inventory when picking up a spell while having 3 spells equipped. This old window had sense long ago when the Inventory didn't exist and now it was just annoying to see it.
- |Spellweaver| Removed the Spellweaver's tutorial about using the item to teleport him. It was way too confusing for the new players and in the next patch we will make it spawn randomly in a level until you find it for the very first time. Then it will be permanently added to your equipment. Don't worry, currently you simply gain this item forever just by talking to the Spellweaver for the very first time and it won't disappear from your inventory.
- |Tutorial| Removed the part about enchanting the Lesser Fireball with an Ice Enchantment from the tutorial. The tutorial now only teach you how to move, dash and stomp to not introduce too much stuff at once.

Added:
- |Settings| Added special Steam Deck Mode setting (enabled by default). Thanks to it some texts and UI elements are enlarged when using a Steam Deck.
- |Settings| Added option to change movement keys so it's no longer always bind to AWSD / arrow keys.
- |QOL / Inventory| When comparing weapons in the Inventory, player will now know which weapon he has currently equipped.
Changed:
- |Controllers| Fixed a bug where the game was sometimes not recognizing plugged in controllers.
- |Meta Progression| Updated Starting Items upgrades descriptions.
- |Settings| Lowered default SFX volume (78% => 63%).
Fixed:
- |Curses| Curse of Sad World will no longer affect the UI.

- |Main Menu| Added link to the Feedback Questionnaire in the Main Menu. Please fill it when you'll have some free time. It will help us greatly in making the game even better!
- |QOL / Shop| Added option to move bought Health Potions to the Inventory instead of always using them on buy.
- |QOL / Curses| Curse of Eternal Battle will no longer spawn enemies while player is inside the shop.
- |QOL| When healing for less than 0.1 health then only "+" sign will be shown above your head instead of confusing "+ 0.0"

- |Curses| Lowered chance of getting Curse of the Maze on 2+ difficulty level.
Fixed:
- |Effects| Fixed a bug where take damage or apply curse vignette effects were overlapping with game's UI when pausing the game making it hard to use Settings, read dialogues, etc when on low HP or right after getting cursed.
- |Perks| Added missing dots and spaces in few Perks descriptions.
- |Enemies| Fixed a bug where enemies applying debuffs like poison could apply it only until player has resisted it once.
- |Inventory| Animation of currently selected Inventory Slot will no longer disappear after finishing Spellweaver's Soul tutorial.
