Update 64715 (16 June 2020)

Several more stability improvements. In the previous patch we added code to help us narrow down very specific issues. This approach worked, and several more crashes are now fixed.

Update 64685 (21 May 2020)

Multiple changes improving game stability. We've taken the time to gather many very rare crashes and fix them. There's like 20 different crash fixes, all are very difficult to explain so I'm not going to try.

Update 64623 (15 October 2019)

[New Content] Dedicated Servers that can be hosted by players. More information here.
[Optimization] Peasant movement is now calculated asynchronously, which means that any situation where multiple peasants change their path at the same time will not cause a significant frame "hitch". Examples - Village Alarm, Panic.
[Optimization] Multiple improvements for dedicated server performance. Mostly ported over from the console development, important now since you can host them.
[Tweak] Resource stats and charts stop increasing for a player that has lost or quit the game.
[Tweak] Quick Match algorithm takes into account server ping while choosing the best server to play on.
[Tweak] Tooltip over the "Create Skirmish Game" button has been fixed and will no longer suggest that it hosts an online match.
[Bugfix] Fixed another case when catapults bugged during their take over.
[Bugfix] Camera sometimes started in a wrong position for clients in a multiplayer match. This no longer happens.
[Bugfix] During "Losing Your Kin" chapter, when Vidar dies the game properly recognizes the failure and shows "Lost Chapter" end screen.
[Bugfix] During "Siege Of Jerusalem" sometimes one of the tents was not properly registered when burned, blocking the mission progress.
[Bugfix] "Pray for Vengeance" now properly increases melee damage and ranged defense. There was a bug that caused it to improve fire rate instead.
[Bugfix] Sometimes after load, the Catapult Crew or peasants would be "glued" to a certain spot on a map. They are now free to move as they please.
[Bugfix] During the outro of "Siege Of Jerusalem", the last gates behaved incorrectly. This has been resolved.
[Bugfix] For some reason in one of the previous patches Viking's "Shieldbearer" squad changed it's weaponry from axes to swords. Nobody knows why the soldiers did it, but we've made sure they got the axes back.
[Crashfix] Resolved a problem with our game crashing if any other UE4 Steam game is already launched. This solves many of the "game crashes on startup / does not run" issues.
[Crashfix] If you were very unlucky, you could crash the game during "Battle of the River Bug" if you took over a war machine at the end of a mission with that starting German squad.
[Info] Please, feel free to share your feedback on the released mod tools and their usage - we'll be improving the tool and so we need to know what's bugged or most irritating / confusing for you.

Update 63982 (18 June 2019)

[Optimization] Removed shadow casting from smaller model parts in further LOD's. Things like arrow held in a hand or a small knife will no longer cast a shadow when far away from camera.
[Optimization] Fire particles on torches thrown by soldiers to burn the world are now stored in a pool of objects, instead of spawned every time anew.
[Tweak] Added a legend entry for gamepad controls in the in-game Match Status screen.
[Tweak] Removed tooltips that are showing up when hovering Player Information buttons in the in-game Match Status screen.
[Tweak] Added a Player Information button for the local player in the in-game Match Status screen.
[Tweak] Changed the size of the top tabs in the in-game Match Status screen. The textures were too stretched.
[Tweak] Adjusted the UI navigation on gamepad in the in-game Match Status screen.
[Tweak] Reduced the title font size and increased distance from the text description in on-hover tooltips. In some languages, some of the newly added options were too long and the title did not fit in a single line. As a result, it overlapped the description text, making both unreadable.
[Tweak] Reduced the drakkar sideways movement once it's arrived to the beach, during the first chapter "Off The Course". Looked silly in some cases.
[Tweak] AI will now engage into combat with Hassasins, not just place traps.
[Tweak] Improvements to horse movement, especially for cases involving sudden direction change.
[Tweak] Improved unit positioning when giving orders to multiple squads simultaneously.
[Bugfix] Fixed an issue with accepting an invite while the game is not running. By the time the game launched the session could be full, in which case no error was shown to the user who launched the game on invite request.
[Bugfix] Fixed a potential blocker in "Holmgard" chapter.
[Bugfix] PvE matches played on dedicated server were functioning improperly. Due to a bug with Fog of War initialization on dedicated servers, the AI saw more than it should.
[Bugfix] Hassasins morale is now working properly and they are not more vulnerable to morale reducing actions than other squads. They're even a bit stronger.
[Bugfix] "Call Jihad" prayer and "Islamic Propaganda" technology upgrade were misbehaving - instead of strengthening the morale, they did the opposite.
[Bugfix] QuickMatch algorithm had a bug, that prevfented it from correctly finding servers which allowed spectators. Rare case, but broken since we released spectators :(
[Bugfix] While playing on dedicated servers, cavalry was unable to attack. This has now been resolved.
[Bugfix] AI should no longer stay in the base for long periods of time.
[Bugfix] AI is now able to receive Saracen nation when it's set to "Random".
[Bugfix] When playing on dedicated servers, peasants were moving slower on the server than on the clients which resulted in many smaller issues, usually actions happened a bit later than one would expect.
[Bugfix] Zoom will now properly work when the mouse is hovering UI.
[Bugfix] Ballistas left without a crew will now properly react to visibility events from Fog of War.
[Crashfix] Fixed a crash that happened when both the server and client left the game through the "Return to Main Menu" button at almost the same time, with server slightly faster.

Update 63724 +63731 (30 May 2019)

[Tweak] Squads no longer make additional movement sound when fighting, on top of the fighting audio.
[Tweak] Several localization tweaks reported by the players.
[Tweak] Grenadiers grenades will now be deactivated if they missed the target.
[Bugfix] Recently introduced problem with invites and joining lobbies has been resolved.
[Bugfix] Enemy AI will no longer see your squads in bushes in skirmish and multiplayer matches.
[Bugfix] In-game chat will no longer block cursor hit test. This means it will no longer interfere with the commands you want to give your units.
[Bugfix] Catapults killed by ranged units will not stop shooting during "The Last Impediment" chapter.
[Bugfix] Catapults firing over the walls in "Siege Of Jerusalem" will hit buildings hidden behind them as expected. An issue with collisions in the region.
[Bugfix] There were cases when a squad had more soldiers than the designer intended.
[Bugfix] Salah ad-Din Yusuf will now have properly displayed icon on the Match Stats Summary.
[Bugfix] Fixed minor issues with Global Rally Point visibility during cutscenes or after loading a saved game.
[Bugfix] Fixed an issue when taking over catapults shortly after the previous crew died. They sometimes blocked while trying to take it over.
[Bugfix] Fixed multiple issues occuring when a player destroyed the explosive trap, before it exploded.
[Bugfix] During "The Messengers Of Death" if you ignore a caravan, the quest marker will disappear once it reaches the level boudary.
[Bugfix] Campfires will now properly have textures applied to them in "Battle Of The Horns Of Hattin" chapter.
[Bugfix] Several movement bugfixes.
[Crashfix] Fixed a crash that occured due to village sometimes thinking that a non-existing squad is attacking it.
[Crashfix] Fixed a crash that rarely occured when canceling move order for a unit.
[Possible Crashfix] An attempt to fix a crash that sometimes happens when soldiers are walking onto the traps. We'll keep investigating if this does not help.

Update 63593 (24 May 2019)

[Bugfix] Solved several localization issues that we've introduced with the DLC patch. Thank you for spotting them!
[Bugfix] Fixed an issue with Saracen nation experience was not properly rewarded after multiplayer matches.
[Bugfix] "Slaves Supervision" technology is now properly reducing the build time. A single typo in data setup ;)
[Bugfix] Grenadier's grenades will no longer randomly rotate on the floor after landing.
[Bugfix] Battle Of The Horns Of Hattin: Player's squads will no longer be sometimes controller by an AI. Your orders will be respected.
[Bugfix] The Messengers Of Death: The issue with missing squads blocking the gameplay should be resolved. Let us know if this happens again, after the patch. We apologize that something this big slipped into the release build :(
[Bugfix] Impatient Vengeance: If Muzaffar ad-Din Gökböri died during the playthrough, Saladin's final speech would trigger when it shouldn't.
[Bugfix] Impatient Vengeance: If you helped the soldiers at the caravan, they will move to a safe place and heal, before marching further.
[Bugfix] The Final Straw: Recruiting Scorpions will no longer count for the "Light the Campfires" quest.

[Tweak] Archers, Crossbowmen and Slingers shooting from bushes have reduced accuracy.
[Tweak] Each armor improvement on squads now grants bonus flat defense against ranged attacks.
[Tweak] Firerate specialization grants less benefits. Archers should no longer act like they have machine guns on higher squad levels.
[Tweak] Raise shields speed penalty has been removed. Melee defense penalty while this skill is active has been lowered. Cooldown has been reduced from 5 to 1 second.
[Tweak] Autumn Rise multiplayer map has been worked on. Pathing should be much better now.

[Bugfix] Fixed an issue with squads behaved not as designed when retreating near your or allied base.
