Bug Fixes:

Fixed an issue that prevented player from selecting difficulty level if player used “enter” key on the on-screen keyboard instead of the “start” button

Fixed incorrect map marker for the Cleansing Fire quest

Fixed incorrect grammar in Gunslinger trait

Fixed a non-centered text on some buttons

Improvements:
Damage calculations are now rounded up to avoid possible edge cases, when enemy could be hit the same way with the same weapon and once every 50 tests it would not die due to how floats operate
Narrations about location now respects the “character lines frequency” option in the Settings menu

Bug fixes:
Fixed an issue with Delifers realising Hellbats even when they weren’t killed by a headshot
Fixed an issue of black screen appearing after dying on the Chapter 1 Boss arena
Fixed an issue of invisible cursor if player died from lethal fall damage in Ironman mode
Bunch of improvements to the Brazilian translation
Fixed a menacing barrel standing in the Fort area of Chapter 2 without its metal belt. Scary!


4.5.0 (2025-08-05)

Hey there, Gunslingers - we got another update for ya today. And this one's a doozy.

 

We've had over 50 new voice lines recorded by the legendary Stephen Russell as The Undead Gunslinger woven into the main campaign of Blood West to expand on both the lore of the land and his personal backstory.

You've been asking for the incredible Blood West loading screen art to be sold as art prints, so now for the first time ever they're available on the New Blood Store!




And last but certainly not least - we can finally announce that The Blood West Original Soundtrack will be releasing on all digital storefronts on September 23rd!
 


4.4.2 (2025-07-03)

Changes:
- Fixed an issue where player was unable to properly respawn after death
- Fixed reward for the Drinking Buddies quest not spawning at correct location
- Fixed an edge case where Spirits being target of the Cleansing Fire quest would despawn if player ran away and slept
- Fixed a rare case of the door leading to the Chapter 1 boss remaining closed after opening it once, if it happened between versions
- Fixed a buzzing sound that occurred near enemies killed by projectile weapons
- Fixed an issue where Jim could repeat the quest dialogue for Family Ties after the target was already killed
- Fixed an issue where Horned Shadow would not end the questline with proper dialogue
- Fixed lack of voice over for one of Bristle Mike’s lines
- Fixed a potential issue for saves in which players have already given Jim the coin, which could block players from receiving the new quest
- Fixed an issue where maxed out High Tolerance perk would not correctly prolong the positive buffs of alcohol
- Fixed a potential stuck point in the well in Chapter 1
- Fixed a few typos
- Improved clarity of texts indicating that non-story achievements are not enabled in Story and Custom difficulties
- Improved some Cactus Bota animations
- The Blur weapon no longer is locked until death (may require using Purple Revival once to take it off for players already having it equipped)
- Small improvements to certain ragdolls - this should help with cases of extreme enemy ragdolling
- Added the respec potion (New Dawn Tincture) to the shops at Chapter 1 for New Game+. Also added this potion to shops in Chapter 2 for every kind of game, so it’s available earlier.


4.4.0 (2025-06-17)

New difficulty modes:

 

Story Mode - for those wanting to follow along the story without having to worry too much about dying again and again... and again.

Blood, Sweat and Tears - for those wanting an extra challenge.

Custom Mode - where you can adjust the experience and include modifiers like no more ammunition at traders, turn off curse lifting, blessings and more!

One new achievement related to Blood, Sweat and Tears.

A special “victory” item awaits those who battle through Blood, Sweat and Tears to forever remind them of their difficult deed.

 

New Game+ is here as well, with its own modifiers!

Dare to combine it with one of the new difficulty modes?

 

 

New quests:

 

Jim is suspicious of the new basement in the saloon, but he also has another big job on his mind.

The shaman may require assistance once more in another attempt to right the wrongs.

A brand new NPC may offer two wild, new quests that will take player across whole map

 

These modes and quests will most certainly need balancing...

so we're gonna need feedback from y'all!

Bug fixes:

 

Traits screen is now back to how it looked prior to 4.3.0

Fixed a rare issue in which certain saves from Chapter 1 could never load properly

Fixed the Occult Mask to now apply a full Curse properly on player death

Fixed an issue with Priest’s coughing in Chapter 2 that could be heard in the Fort area even after rescuing him

Fixed kills with dynamite not counting towards Crimson Brooch’s value

Fixed Strix dealing more damage in melee than intended

Fixed arrows appearing at the center of the screen for a split second on high framerates

Fixed “Loremaster of the Barren Lands” achievement being granted before gathering the last note

Fixed bug that was preventing keybindings for staying for some users

 

Improvements:

 

Optimization for vast amounts of dead enemies across whole map - this should increase performance and stability of the game in cases where player killed a lot of enemies

Game should be able to recognize corrupted saves a bit better and inform about them

Debuff from using a Cigar has been improved/nerfed

Totem of Souls voice has been slightly improved

Text-scaling can be changed in the Settings menu

Small text improvements

Small improvements and fixes to keybinds (especially AZERTY layout) and controllers

Welcome back to the weird west yet again, gunslingers and shamans alike. We've got a BIG ONE for ya today. v4.3.0 brings new features, music, achievements, plenty of fixes and improvements.


Moreover, we've finally added a codex to keep track of all the notes you find in the game, so you can brush up on yer readin'! (and remind yourself which monsters are weak to what)

 


This will also let you know how many notes you're missing, for you completionists out there.

For those affected by the issue with an empty map (no enemies, no NPCs): simply rest in bed. A single rest should fix this and populate the map again! If your player character is wearing the Ring of Tahoe, unequip it before resting!

Changes:
We’ve heard you and we’ve nerfed enemy detection ranges across the board to get them more in line with old values. No more enemy spotting you across two compounds. Or that pesky Spirit noticing player from across the map. We will continue to monitor your response and adjust this in the future if needed.

Fixed few more issues with 21:9 aspect ratio

Additionally, in the previous patch (3.2.0) we fixed an issue where enemies would not see the player properly from a distance. This results in enemies being slightly more aware of the player.
