Release Notes for Foxy Dumplings Demo
Update 0.0.15 (24 September 2026)
New features
- Calendar diary: Hover over a day to see how many dumplings were prepared, sold and lost.
- Skip the prologue: If you already have a save, a new game lets you skip the introduction chapter and start straight in the first city.
- Cookbook after your first day: The Cookbook app unlocks after your first Opening Hours, and a hint shows you where to find it.
- Online shop with goods from other cities: The phone shop sells products from unlocked cities other than the current one, and a short tutorial in the second city shows you how to use it.
- New quest types: Quests can now ask you to give away dumplings, get an item or post a specific dish on Foxtagram, and the description always says exactly what's needed.
- Bedtime reminders: At 23:00 and 04:00, the game reminds you that it's time for bed.
- Days until harvest: Hover over a greenhouse bed to see the crop's icon and how many days are left until harvest.
- Labels in the food truck: The kitchen, bedroom, greenhouse and every station inside now show a label on hover.
- Auto Prepare tutorial: The first time the Auto Prepare button appears, a short screen explains how it works.
- Chatty shopkeepers
Gameplay & balance
- Cheaper greenhouse: Greenhouse work costs less energy and time, vegetables yield has risen, and seeds, greenhouse sections and sprinklers are cheaper.
- Fertilizers work as described: A fertilizer is used up when applied, and speed fertilizers cut the growing time once by 1–3 days.
- No wasted energy: Watering a bed that's already watered or trying to harvest an unripe plant no longer costs anything.
- The menu goes back to the fridge: When you close the food truck, unsold dumplings return to the fridge, and only the ones left in the pots are lost.
- Pots average out: Raw dumplings added to a pot that's already cooking now average out its doneness.
- Drag into the pot: During Opening Hours, you can drag dumplings from the menu straight into a pot.
- Quest orders always show up: Customers needed for a quest always appear during Opening Hours.
- An honest tick: A green tick next to a customer now means they got everything they ordered.
- Only methods you can cook: When inventing a recipe, you can only pick a cooking method you own the appliance for, and older recipes that break this rule are fixed automatically.
- Faster transitions: Scene transitions now take less time.
World, characters & story
- Characters walk around town: A new path system lets Lisa and the locals walk between places instead of teleporting.
- Fewer voice barks: A character's voice now plays only when the speaker changes, not on every line.
- Better tutorials: We polished the sleep and Foxtagram tutorials, explained your first Opening Hours more clearly, and rewrote some dialogues.
- Fridge capacity: Fridge descriptions in the shop now show their capacity.
- Behind the scenes: more cities are coming soon!
UI & controls
- Key rebinding that works: Rebound keys now work across the whole game, and assigning a key that's already taken swaps the two.
- Keyboard menu navigation: Move through menus with your direction keys (WASD by default) and confirm with Space.
- Esc as Back: In the food truck, phone, shops and apps, Esc takes you back one step; everywhere else it still pauses the game.
- Pause really pauses: While the pause menu is open, the game ignores input even with Settings open on top, and effects no longer show through the menu.
- New pause menu: The pause menu has bigger buttons and clearer labels.
- Resolution from a list: Pick your resolution from a drop-down list; if you don't confirm the change, the game reverts after 15 seconds.
- Bigger minigame prompts: The new Minigame Prompt Size option enlarges minigame button icons up to 150%.
- Tired Music toggle: In the audio settings, you can turn off the music change that plays when Lisa is tired.
- V-Sync and frame limit: On PC, V-Sync is on by default, the frame limit you pick finally works, and the default 60 FPS keeps your fans quiet.
- Settings survive updates: Game updates no longer reset your settings.
- Rumble follows your setting: Turning rumble off now works everywhere, including the heartbeat when Lisa is tired.
- Button colors: Hold buttons are red with a progress bar (plus a HOLD label on gamepad), and positive actions such as Buy, Travel or Save are green.
- Consistent window backgrounds: Panel dimming now uses two consistent colors across the whole game.
- Bigger text: Text on the phone and in tutorials is larger, and text sizes in the shop preview are now consistent.
- Cleaner energy bar: The energy bar looks cleaner, and its warning state no longer sticks after you leave preparation.
- Clearer rewards: Reward pop-ups are now bigger than regular messages.
- Crisp achievement icons: Achievement icons now have smooth corners.
- Touch in minigames: On handheld PCs with touch screens, prompts show touch gestures when you play with your finger.
- Gamepad on the phone: After you close an app, the selection returns to the last app you used.
- Hold to skip dialogue: Holding the button skips a dialogue exactly once and no longer affects your next click.
- Dumpling tiles: Clicking a tile during preparation always adds exactly one portion, without the screen flickering.
- Minigame hold bars: Hold bars no longer rewind at the start of a round.
- Fonts: We refreshed the fonts and added missing characters for all languages.
Visuals & performance
- Fixed effects: Particle effects that showed up as squares after the engine update look right again, and the mushroom-cutting effect is back.
- No more flickering: Shaking windows, e.g. in dialogues, no longer flicker.
- Smoother characters: Character movement, sorting and shadows are optimized, so busy cities run more smoothly.
- City icon on the map: The city icon no longer shrinks after repeated hovering.
Localization
- Over 500 text fixes: We corrected English and Polish texts and filled in missing translations.
- New end-of-day comments: Calmer summaries appear after an average day, and customer reactions are now matched correctly.
Bug fixes
- Foxtagram in the shop: Opening Foxtagram during a quest in the shop no longer locks up the game.
- Demo save rescue: A save that ended up past the last available city now loads in the last playable one.
- Tutorial after quitting: The tutorial screen no longer stays up after you return to the main menu.
- Back button: It no longer disappears in shops after a purchase or in the greenhouse after an interrupted tutorial.
- Empty tabs: Phone shops no longer show tabs with nothing for sale.
- Settings: Leaving the settings no longer asks twice about unsaved changes.
- Ingredient amount color: The amount only turns green when you really have enough.
- Shop tiles: Tiles are no longer grayed out by mistake.
- Characters on paths: A character switching paths no longer gets stuck at the end of the previous one.
- Skip to Chapter 2 (demo): The option now asks for confirmation before overwriting your save.
